"**What this part does**
Forms the static seal between the compressor housings and covers, so refrigerant gas and oil cannot leak out at the joints and moisture cannot get in.
**Where it is installed**
The O-Ring Seal (cylinder body) is located in the seal grooves between the compressor housings — cylinder block, valve plate, cylinder head and end cover.
**Symptoms of a failed O-ring**
A worn or damaged O-ring shows up as one or more of these symptoms:
- Oil seepage or oily dust collecting along the housing joints
- Refrigerant loss and the system needing frequent recharging
- Cooling performance dropping off over a few weeks
- A leak found at a housing joint during a pressure / leak test
- The old ring found flattened, hardened, cracked or swollen when the joint is opened
**When to replace**
Replace every O-ring each time a housing joint is opened. Old O-rings take a set and will leak — never re-use them.
**Why choose this part**
Supplied as a direct replacement for the original part. Always compare the dimensions, hole layout and finish with your original part before ordering.
**Ordering note**
O-rings are matched by inner diameter, cross-section and material. Compare the ID and thickness with the original ring and confirm the material suits the refrigerant and PAG oil in use.
