"**What this part does**
Lets the swash plate rotate with the shaft while the pistons are driven back and forth, taking the load from the compressor stroke.
**Where it is installed**
The Swash Plate Bearing is located between the swash plate and the shaft / piston shoes inside the compressor.
**Symptoms of a failed bearing**
A worn or damaged bearing shows up as one or more of these symptoms:
- Rattle or knock from inside the compressor that follows engine speed
- The swash plate develops play and the compressor stroke becomes uneven
- Falling cooling performance as the piston stroke is no longer consistent
- Pitting or scoring on the swash plate running surface
- Metal particles in the compressor oil
**When to replace**
Replace during a compressor overhaul, or as soon as play or roughness is found in the swash plate assembly.
**Why choose this part**
Supplied as a direct replacement for the original part. Always compare the dimensions, hole layout and finish with your original part before ordering.
**Ordering note**
Swash plate bearings are matched by bore, outside diameter and width — compare with the original bearing before ordering.
