"**What this part does**
Lets the belt-driven pulley spin freely on the compressor nose when the A/C clutch is disengaged, and carries the belt load when it is engaged.
**Where it is installed**
The Pulley Bearing (TaiDe) is located inside the pulley hub, so the pulley can spin freely on the compressor front housing.
**Symptoms of a failed bearing**
A worn or damaged bearing shows up as one or more of these symptoms:
- Loud rumble or growl from the front of the compressor that is present even when the A/C is switched OFF
- Noise that gets worse with engine speed, whether or not the clutch is engaged
- Pulley running hot to the touch; grease thrown out of the bearing
- Pulley wobble, or belt wear and squeal
- In severe cases the pulley seizes and destroys the belt
**When to replace**
Replace as soon as the pulley bearing becomes noisy — it is the most common cause of constant front-end noise. Renew the pulley snap ring at the same time.
**Why choose this part**
Supplied as a direct replacement for the original part. Always compare the dimensions, hole layout and finish with your original part before ordering.
**Ordering note**
Pulley bearings are matched by bore, outside diameter and width. Compare all three with the original bearing before ordering.
