The Needle Roller Bearing (AAB grade) is located on the compressor shaft journal inside the housing.
**Symptoms of a failed bearing**
A worn or damaged bearing shows up as one or more of these symptoms:
- Rumble or growl from the compressor following engine speed
- Shaft play when the compressor is opened
- Scored or spalled roller / race surfaces
- Metal particles in the compressor oil
**When to replace**
Replace during a compressor overhaul, or as soon as play or roughness is found.
