"**What this part does**
Carries the rotating load inside the compressor and keeps the shaft correctly aligned so it turns freely.
**Where it is installed**
The Compressor Bearing is located on the compressor shaft and inside the housing.
**Symptoms of a failed bearing**
A worn or damaged bearing shows up as one or more of these symptoms:
- Rumbling or growling noise from the compressor that changes with engine speed
- Vibration felt through the A/C hoses and the front of the compressor
- Rough rotation or noticeable play when the shaft is turned by hand
- Discoloured, dry or pitted bearing surfaces when the compressor is opened
- Metal particles found in the compressor oil
**When to replace**
Replace when the compressor is dismantled, or as soon as roughness or play is found. Renew the shaft seal, O-rings and oil at the same time.
**Why choose this part**
Supplied as a direct replacement for the original part. Always compare the dimensions, hole layout and finish with your original part before ordering.
**Ordering note**
Bearings are matched by bore, outside diameter and width. Compare all three with the original bearing before ordering.
